New Delhi, 26 May. The State BJP President Shri Adesh Gupta continues to lead the pol khol abhiyan against Arvind Kejriwal’s unkempt promises and misdeeds. While having direct dialogue with people and farmers in outer Delhi’s Kirari, Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri assembly segments, he apprised them about the difference between words and actions of Kejriwal. He said it appears as if till date no MLA or leader of the AAP has even bothered to visit the outer Delhi areas.
Talking to media persons later, he said while farmers in the country today are getting several benefits including subsidy on tractor purchase, or fertilizers or on other farm equipments, but there is no subsidy whatsoever for farmers here in Delhi. It is the government which arranges power for irrigation but nothing like that in Delhi. Farmers today are getting hefty power bills according to commercial rates. Nothing can be more shameful than this, he added.
He charged the state government with suppressing the rights and voice of farmers rather than encouraging them. It is regretting they are not even getting farmers rank. So much so under PM kisan samman nidhi whatever money should have been transferred to farmers accounts even that has been stopped. He said Kejriwal had promised Rs 20000 compensation per acre to farmers whose crops get damaged and when they protested against what they called a meager amount, it was raised to Rs 50000. But it’s shocking they have not even got this.
The Party State President said Kejriwal lied when he said in Punjab that farmers in Delhi are getting Rs 2616 as MSP. The fact is Kejriwal government has done nothing for Delhi rural areas. In fact, it was late Madan Lal Khurana and late Sahib Singh who actually helped develop rural areas in the city whether it was making roads or flyovers. He said Rs 400 crore Narela-Bawana flyovers made by Modi government is a gift for Delhi farmers.
He said farms in many villages in the city are still under water logging for years with nothing being done to drain it out and thus no crop sowing can take place there. The central government gave Rs 2419 crore for Yamuna cleaning and setting up 18 STP plants but nothing happened and the river has become even more polluted. But BJP won’t tolerate this all and will forcefully raise farmers’ voice in ensuing corporation’s elections. He said in past seven years he has only harmed the interest of farmers in Delhi.
