New Delhi, 26 May. The state BJP President Shri Adesh Gupta said the way CM Arvind Kejriwal’s close official, city government’s principal secretary, revenue Sanjiv Khirwar, used to have the stadium vacated by players for a walk for his dog exposes Kejriwal government’s seriousness towards sports. The stadium which should be having sportspersons, coach and interest towards sports is being used by Kejriwal’s senior official for a walk with his dog. Talking to reporters here today, he demanded strict action against such official who ask players to be removed from here so that he can take a walk with his pet which is very shameful.
Shri Gupta wrote a letter to the Lt. governor Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena urging him to take note of the whole incident. In his letter, he said stadiums in Delhi are in a real bad shape and instead of encouraging sportspersons Kejriwal government is rather discouraging them which has made sports standard in Delhi come down. He said there should be mental check up of officers like Sanjiv Khirwar and such person has no right to hold any post.
Shri Adesh Gupta said in Delhi sports resources and facilities are being misused which is why sports talent in the city is on a down slide because CM has no time from politicking. The use of stadia and sports equipment should be only for players and leaders or their officials. He said if only little care is given to sports, the players will be able to bring honours not only to the country but Delhi as well. When this incident happened Kejriwal gave orders for stadium to be opened till 10 p.m.
He said for false publicity and taking credit the Kejriwal government has till date not told Delhiites about the sports university’s address as to where it is located nor anyone knows what all sports take place there. Even there is no infrastructure for the same. He said the CM has even told the name of this university’s vice chancellor about whose four walls nobody knows till date. Neither land nor player or admission, nothing is known which shows how serious Kejriwal government is about sports.
